My dog is on day 4 on heat and have noticed she stinks and looks filthy- she usually does a very good job of cleaning herself, she is an indoor dog and usually part of the family but as she is in heat she has been shut away in the dining room as have your children and carpets and dont fancy blood on them. She seems quite depressed at being not allowed in the rooms of her choice and also last 2 days we have come in to her defacating and urinating in the house something which she never does. Any tips to make her heat more bearable for her? its not an option to allow her into the living room as my young son is crawling around and for hygene purposes it CANT happen, Nor can i walk her because of her being in heat. also any tips on how to clean her if she wont do it herself (she is massive) so lifting her into the bath isnt an option, nor i hosing her down outside really as the weather is muddy soggy and tipping it down!
it is our intention to have her spayed but we wre told to wait until after her season then have it done.
she deffinately hasnt been mated, theres a dog 2 doors down trying his upmost to get to her but we haven't let her out of our site one of us sits in the dining room with her and when outside we go with her to make sure,, we really DO NOT WANT puppies
