i have recently got a new kitten and she is very well behaved. she knows her name and comes when she is called, she responds to discipline when she scratches good furniture and is learning what she can and cant do, however no matter what we try she continues to poo in the house and not in her litter! We have tried everything, cleaning out her litter numerous times a day, using different brands of litter, praising her when she uses the litter, and the litter is always accessible to her, but for some reason once she has used the litter once she wont use it again. She also keeps pooing in the same spot, right in front of our fireplace on a mat. Could it have something to do with the mat? and why hasn't she learned that this is the wrong thing to do even though we make it very clear to her that she is a 'bad girl' if she poos on the carpet. can anyone offer some advise on how to break her of this bad habit?!
