Two weeks ago my mother went away for the weekend (as she has done many times before) leaving me and my miniature schnauzer at home. I was more than capable of looking after the dog - and that's exactly what I did. On Sunday evening my mum arrives home to be greeted by my dog jumping up and down at her feet with excitement as usual. Shortly after the pleasantries are exchanged my mother goes upstairs to unpack her bags and she is followed by the dog as she usually is. Five minutes later my mum that the dog has pee'd all over her bedroom carpet for no apparent reason!
This, however, is not a big deal, we just put the dog in the kitchen so that he could THINK ABOUT WHAT HE DID!!!
Anyway, two days later we wake up in the morning to be greeted by a HUGE pile of poop, a little puddle of pee and a blob of vomit on the kitchen floor.... and the day after that.... and two days later again.... and a few days after that too!
And so, me and my mother have have a problem on our hands... several problems, in fact!
Why has my dog suddenly started doing this? He's normally a really good dog and we have never had this problem with him before. Is it because he's getting older? Is he unwell? what is he trying to tell us??!! He only seems to do it when my mum is around, like in her bedroom, or waiting for her in the kitchen when it's time for her to feed him.
(As I'm writing this he was standing in the bathroom right beside my mum and just decided to pee next to her... he then went downstairs to continue peeing in the kitchen).
He's only vomited once so far but he's still leaving droppings and urine everywhere (we have a nice house and we would like it to stay that way!).
There have been no significant changes to his diet, surroundings or exercise routine... So we're stumped for ideas/solutions.
