We're currently searching for a new rental property in London. Every place we see seems to have noted in the ad normal things like "Spacious" and "Bright" and "Newly Decorated" but they also make a point of "Wooden Floors".
Question is, WHY do UK / London properties come with wooden floors and why is this a bonus over carpeted floors? Most of the time "wooden" doesn't refer to lovely old actual timber floors like you might get in a period house but simply just wooden-looking floor lining!
Can anyone explain to me the advantage of "wooden" floors over carpeted floors? Why is this a bonus? Personally I find this country cold and would prefer carpet under my feet on a chilly winter morning rather than wood (or disgustingly cheap feeling wood-effect laminate!)
