im 19 years old with a daughter, at xmas i moved into my permament house by the housing executives and i had absolutly nothing ! there were no proper floors down, no appliances , no beds, completly empty,
its been 6 months since i moved into this house, can i re apply to see if i get it now or because im livin in here for a couple of months now i cant apply ? i still need things, need a bed for my child , new floors, my cooker is broke so i need that aswell .....thanks
i do get my rent payed by the housing and also receive income support but thats meant to help me and my daugther by electric heating and food and i onli get £130 every fortnight so i dnt have neought money left to buy anything, i heard about the community care grant and thought id apply but i got told by the person dealing with my application i wouldnt get accepted so declined it , i thought that was ridicouls as me and my daugther had nothing as my family kicked me out of the house over a dispute hence why i got a house, (we sorted it out after though so were tlaking again)
havin nothing i was left with a matrees i had from my mums with a blanket over me and my daughter, going to my mums to ba able to cook my food !
thankfully my mum got into some money so bought my a sofa for next to nothing and cooker , a bed etc.....but my daughter has nothing and has to sleep in her travel cot all the time, got a really cheap carpet and now it is pulling up so need to buy proper wooden floors
i dont understand why a person in my situation couldnt get the community care grant....not trying to be nasty but how come if someone comes out of prision to get back on track can get it but when it ocmes to people not being in trouble with the police and trying to make a living for her fmail cant get it ? i think its outratgous !
