I will try to keep this as short as possible without leaving out any important details so I can get the most accurate opinions out of u guys..
Heres the situation:
My fiance and I are 22 and living with my parents so we can save up the $10,000 we need to put down on our 1st home. We pay them rent, and also pay for my mothers cigarettes, some groceries, do laundry, lawn work and home repairs in the mean time. We have a little 2 room apartment.. a bedroom and a Living room. No kitchen or bathroom. My father's computer room is right on the other side of our main door (which is fine, idc.. usually) Both of our entry doors have locks on them my DAD installed so we can have "privacy"
Now, to start.. I have asked my dad to leave our entry door closed at all times because his cat sneaks into my room and pees on my clothes, bed and couch. I have a cat as well, and when his cat pees in HER litter pan, she won't go in it and will pee on the carpet instead. As a result of this "pee-war" my entire apartment reeks of potent piss. He still leaves the door open. And yesterday, when I came home he was screaming and really mad, yelling at me that my cat is ruining his carpet and I need to get rid of her. Than he said he was having a cleaner crew come to the house to clean my apartment and he is having them bill ME. This is AFTER I have told me (almost daily) to leave my door closed, and why. His answer to this was always the same "I have to leave that door open for air flow, otherwise MY computer room gets hot" but leaving the door open makes out bedroom incredibly hot, and now the pee.. Is this really fair?
Next, My dad installed the locks, but won't respect our privacy. He actually made a KEY that opens the lock.. he didn't make a copy, he made his own - home-made key. He doesn't knock first, he just tries the door (no matter if we're awake, sleeping or watching tv) pops the lock and comes in. When I ask him to leave because he will just stand there as we watch tv and talk loudly with our dogs and throw toys in front of the tv and get the dogs all excited. We tried ignoring him, asking him to leave, nothing works.. he'll just stay there for an hour sometimes, and if I get mad he'll say "its my house, I can go where I want and do as I please" ... we're paying rent, is this really fair? He evens comes in while I'm changing and one time caught my in my bra and panties and just stood there talking to me!!! I asked him to leave cuz i was naked and he goes "ur my kid, I've seen everything when u were a baby" I didn't have boobs and hips when I was a baby.. I told him this really creeped me out and he got mad at me... girls, if ur dad did this.. what would you think? Creepy or normal?
Lastly, they won't obey MY rules about MY dogs. I don't ask much.. don't let them jump on ppl or bark at ppl and don't let them eat garbage.. but my mom ignores me and gives my great dane plastic POP bottles to chew on (the ones u buy at a gas station, empty of course.. but still). I got mad and yelled at her one day cuz my great dane chewed open a full 2liter of mt. dew and told her its teaching her bad behaviours.. he actually LAUGHED at me and said I was being over-controlling and to lighten up. Than yesterday, I caught my mom giving my dog plastic throw away cup to chew on and destroy. Her lips were cut a little from it and I yelled at my mom again for it and she got REALLY mad.. like really mad and started screaming at me, calling me controlling and told me to get rid of the dogs cuz I don't make them happy cuz I'm always telling them "no". My great dane is 1yr old.. anyone else still training their 1yr old dogs? I told her we had TONS of toys downstairs.. rubber bones, tires ect. But she just ignored me and walked away.
I feel like I'm going crazy.. so I'm staging a sit down meeting tommorrow with my parents and I want to show them YOUR answers. Be completely honest! If you think I AM being over-controlling and unfair, say so. If you think the opposite side is being unreasonable, say that too. I want your 100% HONEST opinions.
Thank you.
