I'm sure a lot of you guys out there will be able to help me!
I'm having to decorate my house on a low budget so I've Emulsioned my bedroom walls, and redone theSkirting Boards etc. with gloss paint, but I really can't afford carpets at the moment, (all of the old disgusting Carpets were dumped when I moved in here).and the problem was that the carpets had been here since the 1960's or 70's, (Honestly,) and they were the type with the black "backing" which turns to powder after a while, but unfortunately someone decided to "glue" them to the floor!!!! presumably years ago, so I've had to put Nitromors on each of the disgusting lumps that were glued to the floorboards and scrape off the excess, but it has left black marks on the wood, and I can't afford to have them professionally "sanded", so I'd be really pleased with a bit of advice about how to paint them either White, or preferably a little bit "distressed-looking White, and also what sort of Paint to use,
