I have a 1 yr old child and live in an apartment. I'm looking to do something different so that we can eat in the dining room together without fear of him spilling all of his food on the carpet! I can't tear up the carpet since I rent, and I don't like those plastic mats I can put under his chair. I want something fashionable, yet functionable, yet not cost me an arm and a leg! Looks like I can't put hardwood or laminate flooring over carpet, so..... any suggestions??
