It's short but I plan on extending it more.
CHAPTER 1
The rain thundered loudly outside as I lay awake on my cold bed. At 3.15am, I decided to try and enjoy a very early breakfast. The floorboards creaked loudly as I tip-toed down the old staircase. The kitchen was dark and cool. The wooden cupboards seemed pale and icy. The glow from the toaster dimly lit the edge of the room. I buttered the crispy toast and ate it in two bites. The small sofa seemed a strangely comfortable place to sleep now as I knew I'd never make it upstairs. My eyes shut and I fell into a light sleep.
I awoke to the clanging of pots and the chatter of two deep voices coming from the kitchen. Kellan, my brother was attempting to cook again, I knew I'd have to clean the burn encrusted pots. I couldn't quite make out the second voice, he spoke low and in a whisper. I ran my fingers through my hair and began to move towards the stairs.
"Bells?" I heard Kellan say from in the kitchen ceasing the moving of pots, awaiting my response.
"I'm going for a shower, Kellan, I'll be down soon," I didn't turn to look at him but stopped half way up the stairs.
"Bella," Kellan said, his voice sounding harsher now, "Collin's here." My feet seemed to freeze against the carpet, my throat went dry. It didn't make much sense to me, Collin was my ex.
"Okay Kellan, I'll be down in a minute, just let me shower first." I ran the rest of the way up the stairs and into my bedroom. I had no intention of showering, I planned to panic a little.
