Basically we moved into a house back in may this year and literally hours after we had moved we noticed the flush on the toilet didnt work. The landlord got someone to come out and fix it. The plumber told us it was a temporary measure it was so temporary it lasted minutes before it was broken again. We have continually tried to contact our landlord in regards to this issue but he does not seem to be bothered about resolving it. Now the days are getting hotter we have started to notice that the toilet is begining to smell vile and are having to move out. Are we in our rights to move out and refuse to pay the rent until the work has been carried out? Also we have a major water leak when it rains from the roof which is making the floor boards brittle on the first floor and we are worried that he will charge us for not getting this all resolved at the end of our contract as there are now stains on the carpet from which the water has leaked. Please can you help me.
