If a flat was converted from an office to a residential flat in 1999 (which is rented out by the owner). What soundproofing needs to be done?
The owner of the building has said that the people below have complained about me walking in the flat and that I should stop it! :-s
(Well walk about as little as poss in barefeet and tip-toe). I don't bang or stamp my feet (or play music, live by myself quiet etc so don't get better than me much).
The build is a very old (listed building) - the carpet appears very cheap and thin with no underlay. Its wooden floors that are not that think and hollow. I obviously can hear them walking about as well below - and talking / burping even.
If converted in 1999 - what soundproofing should they have (if any)?
(In my opinion the person shouldn't have taken the flat if so sensitive to noise. Eg it can't have double glazing as listed so I knew it would be cold in the winter before moving in - doesn't take a genius.
