Hi, been looking into connecting MP3 player to car radio in my clio.
I have a cassette player (standard factory fitted) with steering controls, its all working fine. While cleaning the car I noticed a wire going under the driver seat an goes into the carpet under passenger seat!! I got excited there was a cd changer under there but it wasnt!! tut! but I think the previous owner must have had one as I have the manual for it with my documents (thought nothing of it til now).
So I look at the radio and it has 'tuner list' written on the front, I find out from manual and internet sources that this is a slot for controlling a cd changer from a cassette or cd player built into the car. Then I learn that this can also be used with (this is where I need help) some kind of connector to fool the tuner list into thinking there is a cd changer where there is actually any audio input from a small jack!!
I've seen the connects2 product but it is more for connecting an IPOD and selecting tracks thru it, at this moment I am more interested in just my MP3 player (phone) connecting to it in a MUCH cheaper fashion! As I said there is a wire already coming from the radio so I shouldnt have to remove it? Also, between the driver an passenger seats there is a iso?? (guess) in the middle of wire.. can i fit something into that bit to make an aux input? or could I be wrong and this wire is not related to anything to do with a cd changer??
