A few weeks before Christmas there was illness in the household. Eventually the inevitable happened and someone was sick on the carpet. This was immediately cleaned up and the area treated with carpet cleaner AND baking soda (to neutralise smells), this treatment has since been repeated several times. There is no residual stain or smell but whenever I step on the area (I try to avoid it as much as I can) I am convinced that I can still feel dampness under my feet. I even cringe whenever others stand on the area, even though they appear not to notice. I have even put paper towels down and walked on them to try and pick up any remaining moisture but they come up dry.
Could the area still be affected or am I just imagining it as I still see the area as unclean?
