I noticed a stray kitten in my garden, from last week, she was coming to my garden, I noticed that she would always go to my garden shed, I would always feed her, i did noticed that she was pregnant, but she would not come in the house, I cleaned out my shed, and put carpet down, cause i knew that she was looking to make that her birthing place after unsuccessful attempts of trying to get her in the house. After 2 days of not seeing her, I looked in the shed and saw that she had given birth, she allowed me to touch them and count, she has had 11 kittens, i almost had a heart attack, I tried again to move the kittens in the house, but she puts them back, so i have made the shed as comfy and warm as possible, a few old clothes and a large, thick blanket with sticks holding it up like a tent over them, over both shed doors from the inside, so when the door is shut, due to the fact that the blanket is huge, it comes right down from the top to the bottom, so when you close the door, the draft doesn't get it and every hr or so, me or my son checks in on them, I have no idea if she is a stray, as she is in good condition and is quite friendly, so I'll be putting up ads to try find the owner, before i do the last option of calling in a resuce team, as im quite happy to look after all of them until they come of age to find homes.
My question is, as i have never heard of a cat having 11 kittens or do i have a cat, what signs should i be looking for if the mother cat is in problems( i've been going in there to move the kittens around so they all get milk and plus im always bringing her food to her and water to make sure she is eating good food and because there is so much of them, how i can tell which kitten is in trouble, they all are moving around, only time they make a noise is when the mother moves, so what signs should i be looking for with such a litter of 11.
