I have been renting my property for just under a year. It is furnished accommodation, and so came with a vacuum cleaner. The vacuum is clearly very old, the model most probably is no longer in production, and it has clearly stopped working because of an electrical fault, not due to suction. I know this because I read an online article on repairing vacuum cleaners and my cleaner shows all the symptoms of having a serious electrical fault. I have also tried cleaning it through all normal methods. So the vacuum clearly requires either an expensive electrical repair or needs replacing.
When I asked my landlord about this he said it was not his duty to replace the vacuum cleaner, but I find this hard to believe.
Please help because the carpets are getting quite dirty and I'm worried he will end up charging us for a professional carpet clean as well as for a new vacuum cleaner.
Thanks!
