I have lived in my current flat a year tomorrow, the carpeting in my flat smells very odd, like mildew just disgusting. I have a 18 month old son that plays on the floor all the time, i hired a carpet cleaner a few months back and cleaned the whole house with it, didnt help, still stinks. Tried to get my money back from the estate agents for the hiring of the carpet cleaner, they didnt bother giving me my money back.
1 time i even phoned the estate agents and asked them to give me the landlords number so i can ask him to replace the carpets, they told me they cant do that!
Well now my tenancy agreement is running out and my landlord wants to come over and have a look at the property, this will be the first time i will meet him.
Should I ask him to replace the carpet for me? Im a good tenant, i keep my house spotless in perfect condition, always pay my rent on time, never complain about anything APART from the carpet!! Can anyone advise me on this subject?
I didnt pay deposit on this property it has been secured by the council
