hi i have live in a private rented house for past 10 months, i am now moving to a housing association property. when we moved into this house there was a form we were supposed to sign, regarding the 'state' of the house. we never signed this due to not being happy with it. i then tried getting the landlord to come to the house for the first 2 months of living here, with him always saying he 'didnt have time'! we are due to move in 2 weeks time and i have done a few things in the house and dont know whether damage deposit will cover it. i had to rip up a bedroom carpet due to a previous leak and was rotten, my dog has sratched at some doors, and carpets need cleaning. since i have been here i have spent £250 on new flooring in the hall and kitchen. i paid a £550 damage deposit. can they charge for damages if they exceed amount of deposit. also garden is now dirt instead of grass, will he charge me for that? thanks x
he did put the deposit in a scheme x
