I have recently moved out of a rental property into a new place. The agents did the inventory yesterday and have told me that they will be keeping money from the deposit to clean the curtains and carpets.
I am 100% certain that the carpets in particular are in better condition now then when I first moved in. When I moved in the carpets had hair and fluff all round the edges and had a few stains. I made notes about this in the inventory and then cleaned and vacuumed them thoroughly. In fact the whole place needed a very good clean and when I left it was pretty immaculate and a hundred times better than when I moved in. Can I dispute them taking the money to do these things when they weren't done for me when I moved in and I have left it in better condition than when I found it?
