I bought a 2nd hand double buggy a few months ago in preparation for baby #2s arrival. I had a really stinky cold at the time and didn't realise that the person I bought it from must have been a heavy smoker (yes, it was a seriously bad cold!).
When I realised the buggy was smelly, I set to cleaning it. I started out with bicarb in water to lift the smoke out. Once dry, I scrubbed with Vax's carpet shampoo. When the buggy dried, I noticed brown stains appearing so I scrubbed with Vax shampoo again. Then, today, a month later and with baby due any time, I noticed yet more stains have appeared on the surface! I scrubbed with Surf and Oxy. The buggy dried in the afternoon sun and smells lovely BUT still more brown staining.
I'm beginning to wish I'd just bought a new buggy but cannot afford to. I can't put a newborn in a dirty buggy! Is there anything that might shift these nasty brown stains? My husband thinks using the Vax machine might be the answer - could it be that simple?
