HALLOWEEN: Starts with The Simpsons sitting round a candle in living room, a storm is raging outside. Bart suggests that they tell scary stories. Granpa starts to tell one. The family are all interested, and without the usual boredom, they listen to him.
Maggie (Annie Wheaton) is drawing a picture of a house, her parents and Lisa (Rachel), her sister, are arguing outside of her room. As their voices get louder Maggie starts to scribble all over her drawing. Across the road, an exact replica of the house in the drawing gets destroyed mysteriously by falling rocks.
Setting now changes to 2001, Marge (Dr. Joyce Reardon) is at a meeting with a group of paranormal investigators, Seymour Skinners (Emery Waterman), Bart (Nick Hardaway), Collie (Pam Asbury), Maggie and Lisa (Annie and Wheaton), Granpa (Victor Kandinsky), Mona Simpson ( Cathy Kramer)and the owner of rose red, Homer (Steven Rimabauer). Milhouse (Kevin Bolliger), a newspaper reporter for the college, takes a photo of the group holding hands and publishes it.
Milhouse goes to Rose Red and is greeted there by Manjula (Sukeena) who says something about him being expected, Milhouse, goes in the house.
The paranormal investigating group arrives at Rose Red the same day. They explore the mansion, with a string so they do not get lost. Marge and Homer point out a few rooms that are there, including a library with mirror floor, and a room that has all the furniture upside down.
They are all in their bedrooms, Seymour sees the body of Sukeena in his bed, and says not there. She disappears. Meanwhile Lisa and Maggie experience visits by ghosts under their beds. They believe it is the ghost of the Rimbauers daughter April, who has a withered left arm. Also Mona sees a lump in the carpet that goes up into her sheets. Later on that night Collie rises up in a trance and goes missing.
DAY: Chief Wiggum (Dr. Carl Miller) receives a disturbing phone call from Sukeena, saying that Milhouse is dead and wrote his name in blood on wall. He goes to Rose Red. Also Agnes Seymour (Patricia Waterman, Emery´s mum) is worried about her son, and goes as well to Rose Red. Chief Wiggum thinks Agnes is a ghost and runs towards the woods and gets lost. Agnes sees a figure and believes that it is her son, and chases after it.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the house, Collie (ghost) leads Granpa towards the garden and towars the pond where there is a statue of Ellen Rimbauer in it. She vanishes. Grampa sees the body of Collie in the pond, he reaches down to get her out, but is only clutching her nightgown. He panics and runs toward house, and then turns around at sees the statue of Ellen move. He suffers a heart-attack and dies.
Maggie sees a doll house and tries to reach for it on a chair, she falls and bangs her head on the floor and becomes unconscious, all the doors and windows open. Bart retrieves the body of Grampa. Just as Seymour tries to escape, Maggie wakes up, and Seymour loses his fingers on one hand as they had been chopped off by the door slamming. is
Mona and Bart leave too get something from the kitchen, and are attacked by Agnes. They tie her up. On their way back, the house has begun building and has changed yet again. A shape approces them under the carpet, as it gets nearer faster, Bart pushes Mona into the nearest room and turns to see a skeleton. Mona turns to see the body of Milhouse hanged in the mirror room, she runs and finds herself in the attic, suddenly over come with a feeling, starts to write. She witnesses the murder of John Rimbauer. Meanwhile Agnes is dragged off by Manjula into the cellar.
Homer and Lisa appear just in time to stop a corpse like figure of April, attacking Mona. The corpse drops down mysteriously. They return to the main hall. Seymour attacks Maggie, but Maggie uses her psychokinesis powers attacks him with a suit of armour. Marge stops the attacks. Homer creates a telepathic link between Mona and Maggie, and Mona engages in automatic writing and tells Maggie to open the doors and destroy the house. Maggie begins to draw a picture of the mansion and then starts drawing boulders striking the house. The doors open and they all flee, but Marge has turned insane, and does not want to leave. The ghosts of Milhouse, Chief Wiggum, Manjula, Bart, Grampa,Collie, April and Ellen Rimbauer close in on her. Marge then realises that she does not want to be there, but it´s too late. She screams and is not seen again.
6 months later the survivors are seen laying down red roses in front of the house to respect those who died in the house. Ellen, Manjula and Marge are seen at the window, glowing brightly as ghosts and smiling at the survivors. Maggie waves at them, but the rest do not notice.
Grampa then jumps as the electricity comes back on. The Simpsons gaze through the window and see the storm is beginning to clear. Bart then says somthing about the story being cool, and Lisa is shivering from dear.
