One of the thermostat radiator valves broke on one of the radiators, and when we were fixing it we had water gush out all over the carpet. It initially smelt like sewage, but now since drying it smells like we have had cats spraying on the carpet.
We have had the carpet carpet cleaner on it, and shake n vac etc, and the smell won't go.
Before we replace the carpet, has anyone got any ideas what is causing the smell and how to get rid of it? Also its the children's room, is it safe for them to sleep in there, we have tried our best not to put them in there till its sorted, but we may have to.
Thanks
