I bought a Dirt Devil which operates without a bag, but this is absolutely useless.
I have carpets and exposed floorboards, 2 house cats - (and of course a husband;o)), and live on a farm,so the dust and hair will pile up quickly
The suction is practically non-existent and it doesn't pick up any more. I have thoroughly checked the dust container, filter, hose etc etc and their are no blockages. Sorry to say this machine is only just out of warranty and there is no chance to get my money back.
Yes, I know Dyson etc are really great, but I just don't have that kind of money free at the moment.
