My flatmates have two cats and we've been dealing with fleas for the whole summer, especially in my room even though the cats are not allowed in there. I've tried everything possible, I vacuum every day, I've washed my linens fanatically, pillows and even thrown away my duvet. I've sprayed the carpet once (sometimes more often) a week as well as the mattress. I last spray the mattress, less than 24 hours ago and I just found another flea. I usually find one a day and always in my bed, never anywhere else and it doesn't matter how often I wash, clean or spray, they always come back. I read somewhere that fleas couldn't go inside your mattress, but it seems to me that is the only logical place, they could stay (and I have moved the bed and vacuumed under it as well as between the mattress and the box spring)
I am completely helpless in this situation and need advice that doesn't evolve buying new mattress
Hi everyone thank your for your answers. I have no idea how this yahoo stuff works, but i wanted to say that the cats are being treated consistently, so I don't think that's the problem.
And yes I do think i need to open up my door to the cats so that the fleas will jump on them and not me. And they are being treated with Frontline.
