I moved into a new house with my husband and 2 1/2 year old daughter in november this year.
Met the neighbours and got on really well with them. She seems nice mentioned about her dog barking alot and i said not to worry. The dog does bark alot and howls when she goes out but it doesn't bother me having lived with my parents 8 dogs! lol.
Anyway recently shes complained a few times once to my husband about my daughter making noise at 6am when my husband gets up for work and wakes her up. Luckily that isn't a problem now as he doesn't have to get up now until 7am.
Last night she came over around 10pm when i was in bed and my brother answered the door and called me down.
She told me she had had enough of the constant banging all day and all night and she was going to start putting in complaints if i don't do something.
I tried to ask her when during the day she was but she just replied "well obviously your in all day!".
I then realised what she was complaining about was my loud flat footed toddler! (Thin carpets and wooden flooring).
I tried to explain this to her but she just told me i would have to learn to control my child!!
I couldn't believe i just stood their stumped and said "right". To which she just walked off!
I understand she can hear alot being our houses are attached, her bedroom attached to mine which is difficult when my toddler is walking and running about or even coming in crying at night due to nightmares.
I'm just not sure what i can do here. I cant stop my daughter banging around as she walks.
What can i do? And if she does complain what happens?
Thank you :)
Thanks for all your answers, makes me feel better. Never had anyone complain to me before so it really got to me.
