My husband has always been a little allergic to our cat but recently it's got quite bad. He has asthma but hasn't had to take his inhaler for about 3 years until recently when he's having to take it every day when he's around the cat.
So far I've tried: bathing the cat once a week and using anti-allergy wipes on her her, brushing her daily before he gets up and hoovering, giving him anti-histamines, keeping her downstairs so at least he can breathe easy upstairs, getting new sofas so the dander isn't in-bedded in. We already have hard floors so theres nothing in-bedded in a carpet.
He feels almost immediately better when he goes to a 'cat-free' zone of the house but if he spends any time with her he starts wheezing.
Any ideas of what to do next?
Thanks
Jib
