Just wondering what other people would suggest/do if they found themselves in this situation,
(hopefully you wouldn't be as stupid enough to do this though)
Anyway I was with my ex for 5 years, just over a year go we moved into our own place with her best mate. I took out a 3grand loan for her as part of her the deposit and to pay of existing debts she had.
The loan is for £100 a month and expires aug 2011. Since taking out the loan we had a fall out, She started hitting me so I move out in June and am now living with my current parter.
I paid 2 months rent and bills ect at the house I was living in with my ex and her best friend, when I was staying at my mums just so I could pay up until my notice and avoid getting hurt again.
After all this I am having to constantly chase for the loan money and getting it late which results in me paying it until I get the money and then I am short myself.
I have just had a message from her saying that they are moving out the property and giving two months notice to the agent and wants me now to give money towards painting the place back to its original colour and also pay out to clean the carpets, which I am against doing as they took me for everything they could when I moved out and I paid 2 months with out me even staying there which was quite a few hundred. and she hasn't had a job in over a year out off choice so is receiving nearly £500 a month in benefits.
I have spoke to a solicitor and been told I can pay for a contract which my ex will need to sign to say she is liable to pay the loan back, I said I would pay for contract but my ex refuses to sign it.
What do you think I should do as she will end up taking money for paint, carpet cleaning and anything else that needs doing from the loan money she is meant to give me every month.
I really don't know what to do and its getting me down, there is about 2grand left to pay and £100 a month for me to pay out is leaving me with money troubles myself.
Does anyone else have advice, shall I just struggle through and pay the loan and cut her out my life from today or what... any sensible help will be greatly appreciated as It's causing me no end off stress and upset.
