Basically one of my friends is having a big birthday party, the dress code is 'Hollywood / red carpet' everyone is going to be wearing long dresses and really dressing up. I don't really want to spend a lot of money on a dress that I will only wear once so I thought I would make it myself. I am good on a sewing machine etc so I have no worries there but I don't know whether to buy satin or taffeta, I have heard so many different opinions on each.
I have designed my dress, it is going to be long, to the floor with a split
up the side right to the top of my leg, it will be more fitted at the top, halter-neck. I want to do it with royal blue (taffeta or satin) with Black floral lace over the top of it all so the blue shows through the lace
