I've had my leopard tortoise for a while now - he's about 20cm from head to tail. I've converted a large desk in my bedroom into a tortoise table which is about 2mx0.8m, I've tiled it so I can clean it etc.
The problem I've been having though is decided what substrate to use? I've tried more or less everything. I had planned to use a 50/50 soil/sand mix but it's too messy and smelly (not good for a bedroom!), I've tried othet things like wood chips, calci-sand, news paper etc but everything has its problems.
Any recommend anything? I've order some reptile carpet not sure if it will be any good. Been thinking about using normal carpet tiles or vinyl?
Thanks
