Its an Acer 5738z its fell a short way from my bed to carpet floor while turned off.
The screen is completely dead (no backlight) and connecting to external screen does nothing.
The computer seems to power up fine: lights come on, fan works, CD drive even ejects and loads.
but does not get as far as the login screen.
Guessing motherboard failure or memory module disconnected or damaged??
I don't have a small screwdriver at the moment
Already tried the taking out battery
and did consider the screen disconnected but then why does it not work when plugged into external screen and why does it not get as far as the login
