hii have a few questions regarding getting a deposit back from a landlord and the thing he can take money out for. ok so my friend moved in to a flat. it was painted white (matt) friend asked if she could painted in a cream that would be silk so that she could wipe clean it as she has chidren and thought if its matt she cant wipe any marks of. landlord said she does not want her painting the walls at all and must be left as they are. so now its come to the time of leaving there are marks on the wall. my friends dad said he will paint the flat again to clean it up and get rid of any marks.
also there is a very cheap carpet and drink got spilt on it and friend said she wil get a carpet cleaner but landlord refused. i thought that landlord had to give her the chance to correct things before he takes out any money?
