We have found in our new home empty larvae hanging from ceilings, by the windows and in the carpet. There are holes in the carpet especially where the furniture was standing from the previous tenants. I do not know what to expect next? We have little kids thus cannot spray the house if they appear again. What should we buy that is not toxic to kids? Any suggestions how to fight them? The house was not Clean and I wonder whether because of this the bugs liked it. Or do they live even if it is clean as long as there is wool, grains?
I cannot attach the photo of the larvae but it looks like a "carrot", no hairs. I wonder whether the larvae from both the carpet beetles and the moths get attached to the ceiling.
Some people say that citrus fruit pealings and mint will keep the moths out. There are also cedar balls on the market.
I hate naphtalene. It has a horrible smell and I do not really think it helps.
