I have recently been decorationg my hall and stairs, and on the upper landing have spilt a huge amount of paint which has completely wrecked the old carpet. I am going to claim on the insurance for it. My question is, do I have to have a carpet through out the hall and on the stairs, or could I get laminate flooring for the hall and carpet for the stairs? I'm not sure whether it has to be like for like or if it is up to me what i pick?
