i decided to fit a door saddle because of the mess i made of the carpet under the door. now i've cut the carpet i've found the floor is uneven. when the saddle is in place its not even. there is a difference in height on the bedroom floor side of the saddle and the other side. it doesn't fit down right to the floor on one side. and if i removed some of the bottom of it to make it even the differnce of height between the landing and bedroom size would be even more. i'm afraid to tell the landlord as its against the regulations to make improvements without written consent. i may just have to get a new carpet or put a carpet patch over the whole area. thanks if you bothered to read this.
also its near a stairs. i was wonering if one wasn't put there like there was ones put for the other upstairs doors because of it being a hazard because of being near the stairs or the uneven floor.
