I am about 10 years off retirement and have spent most my working life in carpet sales. Self employed or working for others, and I can do carpet fitting too.
Im thinking of changing tack a little, investing about £4k in the machinery and advertising to do sanding, sealing, renovation of wood floors. I think its a niche market and the sort of thing where you can get good quality customers.
My question is how hard is it to learn the necessary skills and wheres the best place to go? I want to be able to do good quality work and be able to work purely on recommendations ASAP.
