My 9 month old goes to nursery part time and I visit her at lunchtime. I've told the nursery that she needs someone near her when she's stood up playing with activity tables in case she tumbles. When I went in today (earlier than usual) she was on her own, playing with it and in all fairness she did look quite stable on her feet. The nursery staff were at the other end of the room feeding babies.
It didn't bother me too much until I saw another baby (11 months old) topple backwards, doing the same as what my baby was doing. He fell backward onto the carpeted floor and banged his head a little (his back took most of the fall).
Do you think that tumbling onto a carpeted floor would harm young babies (under the age of 1)? I'm starting to wonder how many times my own baby falls over now.
