I rent a studio flat, I?m under a 6 month contract but I discussed with them and said if I needed to leave earlier I'd fine someone for them...however since moving in I've been allergic to their carpets which are full of cat hair, I haven't breathed properly for 2 months, I'm now on medication such as Asthma pumps (which I haven't needed since I was 5) I use Ephedrine drops for my sinusitis- which has been caused by poor ventilation in the flat, damp air and the car hair. I also take pills for my chest and nasal congestion, which has all been brought on since living here. Also, the flat is very cold and heating goes straight out of the window as the windows are only single glazed, the floors are cold and damp and none of my clothes after washing are able to dry. The air is damp and the smell is vile on a daily basis. As well as all this, I discovered the flat has fleas in the carpet from when the previous owners had cats. I've been bitten all over and have had allergic reactions to the bites. I've gone to the doctors and I topped up on meds! The landlords are helping with the flea problem, but am I able just to leave this house legally because it?s causing me health problems? Or am I still legally obliged to find someone else to take my place? I just can't live there anymore!!!!
