My boyfriend and I have been dating for a month now, and he want's to come over to my house. I'm not so embarrassed about having nothing to do, but the state my house is in...my house is a fixer upper and has cracks/holes in the wall that my dad was going to fix but his job frequently forces him to go out of the country. On top of that, there's stains in the carpet from my dogs who we're trying to potty train, and from general wear and tear, and things are just all around dirty and hard to get clean. My dad also smokes (its a badly kept secret on his part) so the house smells like smoke and strong air freshener at times.
Also, my I have two male dogs and a girl dog, and the two dogs tend to fight, and it can get kind of bad sounding sometimes, I'm afraid he'll think we host dog fights!
It isn't just with him, I'm afraid to have almost anyone over because of this, especially him since he comes from a clean, nice, well off family with a nice house. But he's the only one I actually want to have over, I just don't know how to overcome this ashamed feeling I have of my house...
Please help!!
