I'm 13, and I've wanted a cat for as long as I can remember, I even remember carefully opening my birthday presents at the age of 4, hoping a cat will be inside. (ridiculous, I know, but I was 4 so come on)
I love animals so much, but I love cats above all. I ask my mum like every MONTH if I can have a cat, no joke.
I have a baby tortoise that is my total responsibility, and I take good care of it, and I think that's a good example of me being a good owner so my parents don't have to do anything.
What I don't understand, is that my mum had 5 cats when she was younger, and loved them to bits. She still likes cats now, and strokes one whenever it's around. But she has one stupid reason. It will mess up the home.
She doesn't understand that cats aren't like dogs. She's worried the cats hairs will get stuck in the carpets, and that it will bring in rats and stuff, there are no rats nearby, and I told her that there's a special vacuum cleaner for cats hairs.
I know cats with all my heart. My mums best friend had a cat and I used to always go around and take great care of it. My best friend always has me over for sleepovers and before I go to sleep her cat always curls up on my lap and sleeps with me. I can't explain!
There was a stray cat that turned up about a year ago, and my parents agreed that we could feed it and keep an eye on it, but not bring it indoors, though it still came in sometimes.
I want one so much! They're like my best friend, I want to become a vet when I grow up, and to be honest, I plan to have many cats when I get my own home when I'm older.
I have a lot of money that I save and collect when I earn it, I have over £200 which I plan to buy the cat with that money if my parents allow it. Help?
