Please can someone help me? I signed an a.s.t agreement @ 15.30 on 23-02-10. After being messed around terribly by estate agents, loosing deposit on hire van as was late arriving due to est- age incompetence, finally picked up keys from property itself after waiting around outside in the rain while they did the inventory (by this time it was dark and had no moving van so just left property straight away). On closer inspection the next morning during the daylight I found it to be in a completely disgusting condition in every room, with yellow/orange/black/green grease dripping from every surface in the kitchen (which unfortunately did not improve throughout the entire house-bedrooms, bathroom, toilet, living room YUCK)! fridge was black and yellow, cupboard door (loose plywood board) under the sink fell of and hit me on the head, 1 room may have been able to use as a breakfast area (old coal house) had no heating and you probably could have stored refrigerated goods in. carpets stained, wall paper had brown greasey patches on it in the bedrooms....I could go on all day...Landlord predictably being a complete arse about it and "assuresme that when the inventory was done, apart from extractor fan, the house was perfectly clean" they are not willing to help other that to offer me their resident steam cleaner. Has anyone got any ideas please (all welcome) as I took legal advice over the net but agent informed me that my adice was completely wrong???? Have to move out of current property in 4 + half hours,had to put everything into storage last minute wednesday morning, after-of-course finding and hiring the only available van on the planet I think and today I have the joy of finding a bed + breakfast for tonight for myself and my 7yr old son, limited funds, find another bond + 1month rent in advance just incase they do let me out of the agreement + to secure another property have to pay the deposits before the others are released. HHHEEELLLLPPPP!!!!! Wopuld be eternally grateful!
