Agents won't fix my boiler!
I am currently renting through a letting agent they have said that maintenance work can be carried out by their designated maintenance people and that I have to report any issues. I have been trying to get hold of them for a nearly 5weeks sometimes they answer and send plumber but problem still not fixed and last year had same problem for 8 weeks no heating and hot water and no cooker. Eventually both were replaced. But the list of other problems ie no fire extinguishers, smoke alarms not working, exposed wires, mould throughout, roof tiles missing from high winds, loose and lifting floor boards which have resulted in my gran tripping and having to have stitches in her face have not got the letting agents to complete any of the problems I have to keep reporting. I have kept a detailed record of all letters, emails, texts and conversations with the lettings agent but still nothing. In regard to the boiler, the agents keep saying that wrong part has come and now they have said plumber is going to remove warranty stickers so they can say it is still in warranty and have boiler company fix it. The old upstairs boiler leaked and the water was dripped through the ceiling and damaged wallpaper and carpets but no apology for all the hassle. Now new boiler has been leaking I have had to turn the boiler off (hence no hot water or heating) and put a 50 litre bin under the boiler to catch the water. Even though the agents know this they are still unwilling to help and today I received a letter saying that company going into liquidation. I have 2 children and not having hot water is a nightmare. Is there anything I can do about this? I pay my rent of £650 each month and now am in 2 minds whether to bother as I get no help. I would be grateful for any advice as I am now becoming quite desperate
