Hi there,
I just end a tenancy agreement but my ex landlord is trying to get the cost of many new things from me.i.e, new carpet, floor, fridge, cooker .I am renting through an agency.The quote is above 2000£ while my deposit is 1080£.My questions are: Do I have the right to refuse to pay, release the deposit? In the worst case scenario, will it be a good idea to go to court to get back my deposit?
Ps: we had a very quick inventory without photos in the check in done by a member of the agency.But we had a very detailed inventory in the check out with a lot of photos by an independent , does it mean that the check in inventory could not be considered?
