I'm 17 and I'm re-sitting year 12 at school because I didn't do well at school last year.
I hate being at home for several reasons. My dad is fine and has nothing to do with it (except that if it wasn't for him I'd of probably committed suicide by now). My mum has depression. Most of the time she is okay but she can totally go mad at tiny little things like how a man didn?t say thank-you to her or there is an imaginary piece of dust on the carpet. I try to help her by doing the hovering etc but nothing seems to help. When she gets mad she calls me names and she knows what gets to me ? like my weight, she calls me stupid and says I?m failing life. I know I shouldn?t take it to heart but it?s hard sometimes. It lowers my self-confidence further and I self harm. Not a much as I used too but it?s heading back towards as much as I used too. Also I don?t get on well with my sister. She?s 18months older than me and she?s re-sitting year 13. She is constantly taunting me about how she is prettier and cleverer than me (she?s be told this my mum and grandparents). She?s got 2 unconditional offers from universities and bullies me because I?m looking at doing the diploma in nursing rather than the degree. Everything my sister says is threats or taunts. For example today she had got her hair dye and this bizarre looking ?conditioner? all over the bath and when I asked her to clean it up she threatened me if she ever found so much as one of my hairs in the bath she was going to get me. I know it sounds pathetic but she has acted on that threat before. My mum always acts like I?m being unreasonable. I clean out the bath at least 3 times if I ever shave in the bath. I?m getting so mad at mum and sister but there doesn?t seem like I can do anything. I want to leave but where could I go seeing as I only have 9 A-C GCSES. I believe that the situation is making me not a well as I could at school. Probably not the only factor in me under-achieving but certainly a factor. When I talk to my dad he says just keep you head down so they can't bully you.
