I had a lounge carpet damaged by a professional cleaner. He recognised the damage and has offered to replace it, but not the stairs and landing which is part of the same carpet in an open plan area - there is no joining bar. The carpet is three years old and good quality. Should he replace the whole carpet or should I accept just the replaement to the lounge area of the carpet?
