I am replacing my son's bedroom carpet, there is nothing wrong with the old one, it is clean etc but doesn't fit in with his new colour scheme.
Anyway, my question is can I fit a new carpet over the old one (there is no underlay under the existing carpet).
If I can, am i best cutting the carpet all round the room an inch in so the new carpet fittings under the skirting and makes contact with the grippers or can i leave it as is??
My hubby can refit the door, it's only a matter of taking it off and taking a shaving off the bottom...we have fit all our own doors anyway...so no problem there!
