i recently pulled up the carpets in the hallway and landing and am restoring the original floorboards. However, when i pulled the carpets up i found that there is a gap of upto 5 mm between the bottom of the skirting board and the flooring. What is the best way to fill the gap in, firstly to make it look more professional and secondly to stop the cold coming in. Iv been hit with one problem after the other, so any help would be great............Iv heard about using silicone and filler but worried about the movement in the wood over the winter/summer
