ending tenancy, question about carpets?

Carpet Floors - the soft and comfortable side of living.

Would like to start by saying that my landlady doesnt have an agent, everything is done via my landlady.

Anyway, I moved in with my 2 children in feb 08. The carpets were not on the inventory at all and the landlady said that the rug she had in the dining area was there because there was a stain on the carpet. the carpets are cream and I do not know how old they were when we moved in. obviously we have been here 2 and a half years and the carpets are still in good condition (not rip or burnt etc).
There is a couple of marks from hair dye near the fire place where i was dying my hair infront of the mirror and a few drops splatted on the floor. despite trying to get it up asap it has stained brown and purple. the carpet was dirty and I have been on my hands and knees with hot soapy water and towels and a scrubbing brush and cleaned it twice and i borrowed my friends carpet cleaner and cleaned the carpets with it. They came up cleaner but not professional standard and I cant afford a pro cleaner.
My landlady told me that when I leave im going to have to bring the house up to a standard so she can sell it! I am worried she is going to try to keep my deposit for the carpet.
She is one of these landlords that blames me for everything that goes wrong (eg, boiler broke year before last and it took her 3 months to get plumber out. she tried blaming me and when the repairs didnt work and she was advised she would need new boiler she tried blaming me). If the carpet isnt on the inventory can she claim for it? would she stand a good chance of winning if it went to an adjudicator?
Thanks for answers. Just want to add that my deposit is registered with the DPS. it was paid by my grandparents but submitted in my ex husbands name as he was down as the lead tenant. when he left it took a year and a half for me to get it put in my name with very little help from my landlady. (i mean no disrespect to the french here) but she is french and I dont think she has very much knowledge on the laws of renting etc she was convinced they would pay the deposit back to me but from my phonecall with them they confirmed they wouldnt. she helped very little in changing deposit to my name (im thinking maybe her plan was that she would get it all as my ex is uncontactable).

Also only reason i dyed hair in front room is because the entire bathroom is tiled (but its not actually a wet room) and there is no mirror in there and I didnt want to risk putting a mirror up and damaging the tiles.

Do you think bleach could cover the hair dye?
there are 4 small spots about the size of 5p piece and a slightly larger smudge as me trying to clean it off made it worse.
