Just so I know that i'm not alone!
My son is 14 months old and he used to be a great eater until recently. Now he thinks it's funny to throw all his food over the carpet and up the walls. It drives me insane because firstly I hate the thought of him being hungry, secondly I waste my time preparing all these meals for him and thirdly I have to waste more time cleaning the mess up after him.
(I am just about to order a mess mat from Ebay to go under his highchair)
I let him just feed himself because he is very independent and insists he does everything himself which is fine, but after a few spoon-fulls he'll loose interest and start throwing the food everywhere. When I say NO he just laughs in my face and does it even more!!!
I get so stressed at meal times that I have to leave to room and wait by the door as he seems to eat a little more if im not there!!
He looks thin to me although my mum said she thinks he looks like a normal chubby baby so maybe im imagining it! I will have to get him weighed this week to make sure.
He usually eats his breakfast but lunch time is when I have most trouble with him. He will eat about half of his evening dinner though.
I feel really guilty today because I was so stressed at lunch time (he threw his food everywhere again) I shouted at him then stormed out of the dining room and left him for about 5 - 10 minutes. He wasn't crying but he was shouting for me and I didn't come because I was so mad. He is having a nap now on the sofa and I feel so guilty.
Does anyone else have the same problem, when do they grow out of this stage I hate it and im not enjoying being a parent some days at the moment.
Thanks
