I have been due to move into a 2 bedroom flat arranged by a housing association and we just had the carpets fitted on friday and the people living above our flat moved in two days ago and their water waste (e.g. bath, washing machine and toliet waste) has been gushing out of our toilet and bath all over the floor. The carpets are ruined so we have had to have them all taken up again, the people in charge took ages to finally give us an answer as to who is responsible and agreed to pay for the carpets to be relaid but have said we have to clean the mess as we cannot find a cleaner who will do it and we have to sort out the damp walls where the water has soaked through to the other rooms. We have had to cancel our couch and electricals being fitted, so do you think it is enough to pay for the carpet and leave us with the rest? Anyone had similar experience??
