We lived in the poorest conditions, old rented house, [built 1843] and there was no television, old coal fire' that did the cooking and heated the one small living room, no water in the house, no electric, no toilet,
one bedroom, and a cold attic for us children, no carpets, and no garden.

and yet we were happy' we had a old steam radio.
and listened to Dick Barton Special Agent, Workers playtime, Jimmy Jewel and Ben Warris, in up the Pole, Wilfred Pickles, [give them the money barney]....happy days.
Just give me one hour of those days to go back too.
now I'm old and gone white, I still get a kick out of Xmas
but remember my decease dad brothers and family,
