I recently moved out of a flat. I have waited quite a while for the deposit to be returned but have now received the details. The landlord wants to deduct £50 as a 'checking out fee' and also wants to charge £70 for professional carpet cleaning! The place was in better order after I left as I was given permission to decorate - which I did well. Can they charge this???
